Acrostic Poem Generator is a free tool for writing acrostic poems, wrapped in a small library of guides about how the form works. There are two reasons the site exists, and they pull in opposite directions.

The first is that acrostics are genuinely useful at exactly the moments when writing is hardest — a card for someone leaving, a speech, a poem a child has to hand in tomorrow — and a good generator can produce something usable in ten seconds.

The second is that most acrostic generators produce the same six adjectives every time, and most acrostic advice online is the same three paragraphs rewritten. So the guides here are longer and more opinionated than the subject strictly requires. If the tool gets you out of a hole, good. If the guides mean you never need the tool again, better.

Who runs this site

Acrostic Poem Generator is owned and operated by Taurus Alternative Strategies, LLC, based in Rye Brook, New York. It is an independent project, not affiliated with any publisher, school, or poetry organisation.

Questions, corrections, complaints and requests all go to the same place: the contact page, or directly to hello@acrosticpoemgenerator.com. Corrections are welcome and get made.

How the generator works

You type a word. The site sends it to its own server, which builds a prompt and passes it to a large language model that writes the poem. The poem comes back, gets checked line by line to make sure the first letters really do spell your word, and is displayed. If a line has slipped, the request is quietly retried rather than showing you a broken poem.

Three things worth knowing:

• Nothing is stored on our servers. The word you type is not written to a database. The short list of poems the generator avoids repeating lives in your own browser, and clearing your browser data erases it. See the privacy policy.
• No sign-up, no paywall. There is a daily limit per visitor so the tool stays fast for everyone, and it is set high enough that ordinary use never reaches it.
• The poems are yours. Use them in cards, speeches, lessons or anywhere else, with no attribution required. The terms of use say so plainly.

How the site is funded

Advertising, through Google AdSense. That is the whole business model: no subscriptions, no premium tier, no newsletter list to sell you something later.

Two commitments follow from it. Ads are kept out of the tool itself — you will not find one between you and your poem. And no guide on this site is written to attract an advertiser or to sell a product; where we link out, it is to public-domain texts and poetry organisations, none of whom pay us. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on the page, not buried here.

Every example poem in the guides was written for this site. We do not reproduce copyrighted verse. Where a famous acrostic is discussed — Carroll's, Poe's — the page describes what it does and links to a public-domain source where you can read the original in full.

The editorial policy goes into more detail, including where artificial intelligence is used in making this site and where it is not.
