Terms of use
What you may do with the poems, what we ask in return, and the usual disclaimers.
Last updated 27 July 2026
These terms govern your use of acrosticpoemgenerator.com, a site owned and operated by Taurus Alternative Strategies, LLC of Rye Brook, New York, USA (“we”, “us”). By using the site you accept them. They are short on purpose.
1. What the service is
Acrostic Poem Generator is a free website that generates acrostic poems and publishes guides about writing them. There is no account, no subscription and no payment. It is provided as-is, and we may change, limit or withdraw any part of it at any time.
To keep the generator available to everyone, there is a daily limit on how many poems each visitor may generate.
2. The poems you generate are yours
You may use any poem the generator writes for you however you like. Print it, put it in a card, read it at a wedding, hand it out in a classroom, post it, sell the card it is printed on. No attribution is required and no permission is needed, including for commercial use.
We claim no ownership of poems generated for you and grant no exclusivity: because poems are generated fresh from a model, we cannot guarantee that a similar poem has never been produced for someone else, and we make no representation that any generated poem is copyrightable by you. If you need certainty of ownership over a text — for a registered trademark, say, or a published book — take legal advice rather than relying on this paragraph.
3. The rest of the site is ours
The guides, the example poems printed in them, the design, the code and the wordmark are the property of the site operator and protected by copyright.
You may quote short extracts with a link back, and teachers may print and distribute pages for classroom use. You may not republish the guides in whole or in substantial part, scrape the site, or use its content to train a machine learning model, without written permission.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the generator to produce content that harasses, defames, threatens or abuses any person;
- attempt to circumvent the rate limit, or access the underlying API other than through this website;
- use automated means to submit requests at volume, or to scrape or mirror the site;
- interfere with the site's operation or security, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to it.
We may block access from any address that does any of these things, without notice.
5. About AI-generated output
Poems are written by a large language model. That has practical consequences you should know about:
- Output is not reviewed by a human before you see it. It may occasionally be odd, clumsy, or not what you asked for.
- The generator has no knowledge of the person whose name you enter. Anything it appears to know about them is invented.
- You are responsible for reading a poem before you use it — particularly before you read it aloud at a wedding, print it on five hundred cards, or hand it to a class.
We do not warrant that generated poems will be accurate, appropriate, original or fit for any particular purpose.
6. Links to other sites
The guides link to third-party sites such as Project Gutenberg, the Poetry Foundation and the Academy of American Poets. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
7. Advertising
The site carries advertising, served by Google AdSense and its partners. We do not control which ads are shown and do not endorse advertisers, their products or their claims. Any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and them. See the privacy policy for how advertising cookies work and how to opt out of personalisation.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, or from your use of any poem generated by it. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in the privacy and cookie policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and continued use of the site after that constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Westchester County, New York have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country or state of residence provides otherwise.
